Dahlia Sale Details:

Our little family farm is a licensed nursery, inspected and certified for US shipping by the State of Washington Department of Agriculture. We take care in implementing eco-friendly preventative disease methods year-round as we work with plants and tubers.

The shop opens again in April for rooted cuttings and tubers! Shipping is via USPS starting at the end of April. Cuttings ship separately after tubers ship.

We have experienced many sales in the past few years and know that they can go crazy quickly (within minutes or seconds for some varieties). If you see one that you do not want to slip out of your cart, we suggest checking out right away. Items in your cart are not reserved until you see order confirmation…it is just a limitation of this system and upgrades would be too expensive for our little farm.

If it is sold out for now, sign up for a notification! Each “coming soon” dahlia has a box to enter your email address into. Many of these will be restocked as we finalize our grow plan and the tubers start waking, helping us to confirm their viable eyes.

More great news—we are not even done cutting tubers yet, so there are a bunch of varieties listed as we see how they look. It’s definitely a HUGE work in progress here!!

We appreciate your support and look forward to serving you! Please refer to the FAQ’s below for more details.

Cheers & Good Health,
Heather, Andy, and Team Twin Power

PS, if you are not seeing the dahlia listings yet, it’s just because the shop is close to opening, but not open yet! SOOOOON!!

 FAQs

  • These are single dahlia tubers divided from clumps. Tubers come in all shapes and sizes and each will have at least one eye, which is the start of the first stem. Some tubers will be cut to minimize shipping costs, and it is not a bad thing. Interesting fact is that when dahlia tubers are cut and have less energy reserve, it is found that they actually can make more tubers than huge tubers do!

  • Rooted cuttings will be cute little dahlia plants rooted into “OMRI Certified” OrganiPlugs ready to plant. We do not use synthetic materials or rooting agents. These plants will need to be acclimated to the sun after spending time in a shipping box, and we will have instructions for you.

  • Please inspect your order upon arrival. Email us within 3 days of receiving your order if there is a problem or questions. We will not be held responsible beyond that time since nature and gardening is unpredictable and those conditions are not in our control.

  • Shipping begins in April via USPS, weather dependent to protect from freezing. Alaska orders ship in May with careful consideration for the weather.

  • April/May. You will get tracking when they are heading your way! Please let us know if there is a time period that you do not want us to ship. That can be noted in the box during checkout.

  • No. They require different handling and packaging…you would not want your potatoes packed on top of your looseleaf lettuce at the farmer’s market, right? For efficiency and secure transportation, we will ship them in different boxes.

  • Tubers have 2 options for you: USPS Ground Advantage is $9 for the 1st tuber and $1 for each additional tuber (2 to 5 days once we ship). If you prefer air delivery in 1 to 3 days once we ship, select Priority Mail for flat rate $18 per order.

Rooted Cuttings will ship Priority Mail only. Price is $10 for the first plant and $1 for each additional.

All of this will automatically calculate at checkout.

There is an option for Local pickup, too.

  • No. We have set up this year’s shipping as fairly as possible based on current prices and past buying trends. That being said, we do appreciate repeat customers and will definitely add in thank you tubers and surprises for you!!

  • Yes! Alaska growers, your orders will ship in May, and we will check your forecast to monitor when to send. We lived 13 years in AK (with seven in The Bush) and understand how shipping goes up there. We will do all we can to get them to you safely via USPS. just know that if they get dropped on a glacier or you get mail every 2 weeks via barge, etc…we cannot be responsible for frozen/damaged tubers or cuttings…

  • We are currently not shipping internationally, but that may be a possibility in the future. Laws require complete dormancy to most countries, and that is a tricky thing for us at this time.

  • No, we will not allow cancellations. As a small farm, we do not have staff or patience to play dahlia games. If you intend to make problems, please do your business elsewhere.

  • We have found that we get flowers from rooted cuttings much sooner than tubers. We always have rooted cuttings in our dahlia patches for this reason. When we keep the flowers harvested for bouquets, they make nice tubers for us, too!
